On 1st and 2nd of December 2011 the practical units of the combined university course "Sustainable Retrofit with Renewable Ressources" (Coursen° 253.280) took place at the apprenticeship site and in the S-House in Böheimkirchen

In the lecture of Dr. Robert Wimmer nearly 50 students received theoretical background information necessary. And the team around Stefan Prokupek consisting of his colleagues Erwin Krug, Jürgen Rathbauer, Thomas Gilly and Sören Eikemeier took on the practical instructions at the apprenticeship site. The students were able to gain experience in different fields. Exterior walls were insulated with reed plates, a topmost floor ceiling with straw bales made and with load-bearing clay bricks (green compacts, not burned) an inner wall infilled.

At the beginning of the 2-days practical session a very ambitious redevelopement project was presented in Maria Anzbach (close to Vienna). Karin Reisinger of the lecturer team, Dr. Karin Stieldorf and the owner DI Murat Erol leaded the group of 50 students through the building and with reed plates, hemp fill and foam glass gravel insulated rooms.
