Hemp-lime workshop with Tom Woolley, an expert in Hempcrete (hemp-lime) constructions, professor and architect from Northern Ireland.

As an ecological alternative to traditional building materials, hemp lime as a building material is now becoming more widespread, starting from France.

The most common hemp-lime walls are built with a load-bearing timber frame construction, but it is also used in the floor and roof area.

The building material is characterized by an optimal ratio of heat storage and heat-insulating properties, It regulates moisture and due to the CO2 storage in hemp it has a small ecological footprint. 50cm correspond to passive house standards. The design has a monolithic character and is therefore less prone to error.

In the workshop planned practical knowledge is conveyed and test walls are built. Participants will also get an introduction to the theory and various methods of application will be presented.
